A church in New Zealand was fined by the Ministry of Economic Development for telecom operators to block the service. Blocking is considered illegal because since 2009, New Zealand banned the sale of signal blocker device.
The Church itself install a signal blocker system device for the purpose of absorption in running religious people. By blocking these people can be quiet without disturbance by mobile phone activities.
“The Church is claimed responsibility for these blocks and will receive a sanction from the government,” said a ministry representatives, as reported by Chris Brennan Cellular-news, Friday (4/12/2009).
The case was revealed after Vodafone said the service could not operate in the area near the church.
