Japanese scientists develop robot bird that has such stature or hummingbird hummingbird. Robot birds can fly freely in the air with a rapid beating of wings.
Its size is very small, almost equal to the size of a real hummingbird. Bird robot created by researchers Hiroshi Liu of Chiba University is equipped with a micro motor and four are flapping wings 30 times per second. An infrared sensor controls the movement of the wings so they can move up and down, left or right.
“Robots with weights only 2.6 grams to fly eight times more stable than a helicopter rotor blade equipped or propeller,” said Liu was quoted as saying by the AFP, Tuesday (29/12/2009).
“The next step is to make flying flying at one point in the air and complete it with the micro camera. Likely development will be completed in March 2011,” he added.
Liu said, although the shape of a small but developing robots suck with a big fund, nearly 200 million yen, equivalent to USD 20.5 million
This robot was developed intentionally as a tool to help rescue people trapped in the ruins of the building, tracking criminals, or even a vehicle operated as a cruise on Mars.
