Amidst all the excitement over Nintendo’s 3DS unveiling at E3, seems that Nintendo is actually planning to bring 3D gaming to its next game console. In a recent interview, Nintendo President, Satoru Iwata, has remarked that the company is planning to introduce 3D gaming with its next system, probably when the 3D television adoption rate crosses the 30 percent mark. It’s worth noting that the Nintendo 3DS offers its own 3D supporting display that doesn’t require 3D glasses, but if the company were to come up with a 3D home gaming console, it’ll likely have to rely on displays that are manufactured by other companies, which could mean going back to using 3D glasses again.

While Sony’s PS3 and Nintendo’s 3DS have been hogging the news on 3D gaming recently, it seems that Microsoft’s Xbox 360 might be getting in on the party too, with some help from LG. According to a Korean press release, LG and Microsoft have entered a memorandum of understanding to jointly market LG’s new 3D television along with 3D-capable Xbox 360 games over in South Korea. If things go according to plan, then the partnership will be expanded throughout the Asia Pacific region. According to the news, it doesn’t seem like the Xbox 360 will be getting a hardware upgrade, rather 3D games will be bundled with the LG 55/47LX9500 LED TV around the end of June. Are you looking forward to 3D gaming?
