Microsoft has been trying to kill off the venerable Windows XP for some time and now the October 22nd cutoff date for Windows XP is edging closer. With that in mind, Dell has released a statement to remind everybody that it will no longer ship systems with XP Professional and XP Home after the cutoff date, though Windows XP driver support will continue until December 2012. Despite the deadline, qualified customers will still be able to get hold of systems with Windows XP through Dell’s Custom Factory Integration service, though most users will probably just use Windows 7 Professional or higher to run XP applications in Windows XP Mode. Are you still very much attached to Windows XP, or have you already happily migrated to Windows 7 (or another operating system)?

TomTom is doing its bit to maintain a good relationship with its customers. If you happened to pick up the TomTom Car Kit for iPhone and recently upgraded to the iPhone 4, you’ll probably have noticed that the slimmer iPhone 4 doesn’t necessarily enjoy sitting on the car kit. As such, TomTom has come up with a solution for you – a free iPhone 4 adapter. The adapter is more or less like a plastic bracket to ease the iPhone 4 into the car kit, but we’re not going to complain about a free solution, are we? Users who purchased their TomTom Car Kits before September 1st will be able to claim the free adapter from TomTom’s site, and if you happened to pick up your iPhone Car Kit shipped after September 1st, it should already include the necessary adapter.

Zotac has updated its Zbox line of HTPCs with the HD-ID33 and the HD-ID34. The most notable improvement from this update will be the inclusion of a slot-loading Blu-ray drive, and while pricing wasn’t mentioned yet, Blu-ray support on a small form factor computer is definitely welcome. The main difference between the ID33 and ID34 is that the latter includes a 250GB hard drive and 2GB of DDR2 RAM, while the ID33 leaves the 2.5-inch hard drive and RAM slot open for users to pop in a hard drive and RAM of their choice. Specifications of these machines include:
